On September, 29, teachers, students and staff members of the Mykolayiv National University named after V. Sukhomlinsky celebrated a triple holiday: the 104th anniversary of the university foundation, the 99th anniversary of the birth of the great teacher-reformer Vasily Sukhomlinsky and the Day of the Educator, that the whole Ukraine traditionally celebrates on the first Sunday of October.
Among the planned celebrations is the celebratory academic council of the university. The presidium included the chancellor of the University Valery Budak, the first deputy chairman of the Mykolaiv regional council Ivan Kukhta, the deputy head of the education department of the regional state administration, Elena Udovichenko. “The greatest wealth of the university is its students, teachers and staff members who every day multiply the powerful potential of their native alma mater by diligent efforts,” said the chancellor of the university Valery Budak.
Ivan Kukhta, a graduate of the university, noted that the MNU after V.O. Sukhomlinsky is a place where it is always pleasant to come back, and also wished all the educators “splendid health, success, inspiration and strength, always follow the principles of Vasily Sukhomlinsky – give your heart to children.
Olena Udovichenko, a Deputy Head of the Education Department of the Regional State Administration, also warmly congratulated educators, wishing them good health, enthusiasm and significant achievements in the professional field.
The members of the presidium were awarded with honorary diplomas of the best teachers and students of the Mykolayiv regional council and regional state administration. The diplomas of the Mykolayiv city chairman were presented by the first vice-chancellor of the university, deputy of the city council Vladimir Krilenko. On behalf of the Mykolaiv regional council of labor unions, the chairman of the teachers’ labor union Viktor Sichko presented the honorary award “For Social Partnership” to the chancellor of the University Valery Budak and together with the students’ chairman Olesya Oleksyuk awarded the best students and teachers with diplomas.
After official part, a concert with the participation of the pupils of the creative center “Aesthetika” was held for all spectators.
